The Ghost Cityis a very famous scenic spotin the Urho districtof the Karamay of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(85°12′-86°02′E,45°42′-46°15′N,Xinjiang).So thedistrictgovernment want to build the “Ecotourism new town”.Judging from this factors above,urban greening should be implemented.In the process of urban greening,Pinussylvesirisvar.mongolica(P.sylvesiris)were introduced to Karamay for rich local biodiversity and disaster prevention.We want to investigate the adaptability of the introduced P.sylvesiris to the native soil,so we measuredthe photosynthetic characteristicsofthen in two kinds ofculture media.In July 2015,wechosesix trees introduced P.sylvesiris(one year old)toplanted two kinds of culture media which were follows the one was fertilized sandy soil(local sand : cow dung,FSS)and the other wasformulated soil(pine needle soil : perlite : sawdust,FS).We measured five parameters,just following the culture media parameters by soil moisture probe type SMS2 and meter type HH2 ;the photosynthetic parameters,the photosynthesis-light response curve and the chlorophyll fluorescence parameters by Li-6400 XT,a portable photosynthetic system ;growth parameters by laser range finder and vernier caliper.We foundthe following results.(1)During 16:00-18:00 in everyday,the FSS media temperature were very significant higher than that of the FS groups(P<0.01).The volume water contentof the culture media were influenced by irrigation,the conductivity of culture media solution were also done in the third day,especially.The conductivityof culture media solution rose with volume water content down.(2)Therewere the phenomena of “midday depression” at 14:00 in photosynthetic process of P.sylvesiris,and the maximum value ofthe net photosynthetic rate(P_n)appears in 10:00 in two both kinds of culture media.The P_nvalues differences were so much significantly order time(P< 0.01).There was the P_n daily mean value of the FSS groups was more than the FS groups 41%.The P_n integrated valuesof the FSS(22.32)was bigger than the FS(14.74).There were water use efficiency(WUE)appears in8:00-10:00.The WUEvalues differences were so much significant(P< 0.05).There was theWUE daily mean value of the FSS groups was more than the FS groups 59 %.The WUE integrated values of the FSS(10.18)was bigger than the FS(7.09).There were the carboxylation efficiency differences were so much significantly(P< 0.01).The transpiration rate(Tr)differences were so much significantly(P< 0.01).The stomatal conductanceof two groups affected by high temperature and stronglight.The photosynthetically active radiation(PAR)was the major factor affecting photosynthetic parameters(P_n,Tr and Ci)of the FSS groups.The PAR values and air relative humidity were the principal factor affecting photosynthetic parameters(Tr,Ci)of the FS groups.(3)The photosynthetic-light response curve was fitted by non-rectangular correct model.TheP_n values of the FSS groups wereexceeded that of FS groups.There was the light saturation point ofthe FS groups as early as the FSS groups.The photosynthetic rate,the light saturation point and the light compensation point differences were so much significant in two groups(P< 0.05).There was the assimilationpotential of photosynthesis of the FSS groups was more than the FS groups 123 %,ability of adapt to weak light did 30 %,and ability of adapt to strong light did 4.3 %.(4)There were the fluorescence parameters differences were so much significant(P< 0.05).There was the minimalfluorescence of the FSS groups was more than the FS groups 7.1%,the maximalfluorescence did 19.2%,and the maximal photochemical efficiency did 2.6 % in the dark.(5)There were the biomass(height and chest diameter)differences were so much significantly(P< 0.01).There was the heightof the FSS groups was more than the FS groups 1.25 times,and the chest diameterdid 1.61 times.Conclusion are as follows,compared against the FS groups,parameters of the FSS groups improved very much,just like the growth rate,the biomass,the assimilationpotential of photosynthesis and tolerate drought,and so on.Overall performance of P.sylvesiris cultivated with fertilized sandy soil was better,it has strong adaptability to soil,light and high temperature in the northern region of Xinjiang.In a word,thereasonable culture mediaofthe introduced P.sylvesiris(one year old)are local sand : cow dung(2 : 0.5,v/v).This is a preliminary step,although there is still a long way for us to achieve the ideal state
