This thesis is based on the experimental materials of two economic Psammophytes’ s seedlings(Lycium Ruthenicum and Apocynum Venetum)and the experiments that are concerned with different drought stress are conducted by adopting ways of artificial water control.In order to research physiological characteristics and response mechanism of Lycium ruthenicum and Apocynum venetum seedlings affected by different drought stress,six treatments are established and morphology,biomass,water content,physiological and biochemical indexes of Lycium ruthenicum and Apocynum venetum seedlings are researched.This paper can provide theoretical basis for the selection and promotion of economic crops in arid desert areas in China.The following conclusions are obtained in this experiment :(1)As drought stress intensifies,leaf morphology of the two plants appeared drooping,yellowing and abscission.This phenomenon in seedlings of Apocynum venetum is particularly obvious because not only do the leaves become yellow but also the stems change from purple to white and even partly withered.The biomass of Lycium ruthenicum and Apocynum venetum seedlings decrease with increase of drought degree : the biomass in roots respectively decreased by 0.4916 g and26.0858g ;the biomass in stems respectively decreased by 3.4109 g and 3.6537g ;the biomass in leaves respectively decreased by 0.7774 g and 1.236 g..In addition,the biomass distribution of Lycium ruthenicum and Apocynum venetum seedlings in roots,stems and leaves also significantly change : compared with CK,the biomass of Lycium ruthenicum seedlings in leaves and stems respectively decrease by 0.62% and5.44% ;the biomass in roots increase by 6.06.But the biomass distribution of Apocynum venetum seedlings show the opposite trend : compared with CK,the biomass of Apocynum venetum seedlings in leaves and stems respectively increase by3.28% and 4.18% ;the biomass in roots decrease by 5.43%.(2)Relative leaf water content of Lycium ruthenicum and Apocynum venetum seedlings significantly decreased by 16.37% and 11.93% respectively under drought stress.The changes of chloroplast pigment in two plants are different under drought stress.The contents of Chla,Chlb and Car of Lycium ruthenicum seedlings increase at first and then decrease with the increase of drought stress.Compared with CK,the contents of these three chloroplast pigments in Lycium ruthenicum seedlings respectively decrease by 14.91%,11.47% and 16.04% at the Tr5(soil water content is3.87%).In addition,compared with CK,the Chla/b finally decreased by 16.76%.The four indexes in Apocynum venetum seedlings decrease continuously and the rate of decline is higher than that of Lycium ruthenicum seedlings.Compared with CK,The four indexes respectively decrease by 62.37%,44.96%,33.49% and 29.21% at the Tr5(soil water content is 3.87%).(3)The activeness of antioxidant enzymes SOD,APX and POD in Lycium ruthenicum seedlings increase firstly and then decrease with the increase of drought degree.In addition,the activeness of these three enzymes reach the peak under different treatments,which is respectively 1.47 times,2.67 times and 1.57 times than that of CK ;The activeness of CAT increase gradually and is 1.32 times than that ofCK in the end.The activeness of these four kinds of antioxidant enzymes in Apocynum venetum seedling increase firstly and then decrease.Moreover,the activeness of these four enzymes at the peak are 1.45 times,1.58 times,1.61 times and 1.52 times than those of CK.However,the activeness of antioxidant enzymes in two plants show different changes and the peak time is different.(4)The MDA of the two seedlings show an increasing trend under the drought stress and the content of MDA is 1.75 times and 1.67 times than those of CK respectively
