Kubuqi desert is the seventh largest desert in China,the three sides to the Yellow River as the boundary,the edge of forest vegetation research is the core of the region’s forestry construction,but also an important part of ecological environment construction.Therefore,this paper studies the species composition,community life,structural characteristics and community diversity of forest communities in the eastern margin of Kubuqi Desert,and reveals the internal structure change law.Based on the quantitative analysis and evaluation of typical forest community structure.Finally,provide the theoretical basis for the sustainable management of forest communities on the edge of Kubuqi Desert.In the study area,15 standard plots were arranged and the specifications were 50 X 50m.Based on the survey of the samples,Concluded as follow,(1)The composition of typical shrub vegetation communities in the eastern margin of the Kubuqi Desert is relatively simple,there are only 41 species of vegetation appeared,They belong to 13 families and 31 genera,compositae has an absolute advantage.And there have 24 species of trees in the vegetation community.Belonging to 10 families and 20 genera,the species of Compositae species in the absolute superiority of the community.The number of phanerophyte is the first in the community.(2)After the density of Salix psammophila and Caragana korshinskii communitys’ community reached a certain stage,the average stem and tree height were inversely proportional to the stand density.And the overall changes in stem and tree height of Hedysarum mongdicum leave Maxim were consistent with stand density.The similarity coeffcient of Salix psammophila and Caragana korshinskii community is the largest,this indicated that the Salix psammophila community was similar to the growth and development of korshinkii community.(3)The forest can grow normally under the appropriate stand density,if the stand density is too high,it may limit the growth of the tree height.Forest density is small will make the average DBH and the average tree height were higher,and the whole development was bette.(4)The distribution of tree species was mainly distributed in random distribution.(5)The similarity coefficient of shrub community in the eastern margin of Kubuqi Desert is between 0.33 and 0.54,shrub communities reached similar levels.The community of Populus simonii and Ulmus pumila community were mildly similar,and suimilarity coefficient was 0.46.Based on the results of the study,the following recommendations are presented,①Strengthen the protection of species diversity,encirclement of forest communities,Reduce the impact of human interference ;②In terms of vegetation restoration,when considering the terrain factors were randomly planted,Thus enabling the vegetation to work better with the enviroment.
