In order to increase household incomes and improve the food security situation, this project focuses on the empowerment of women by training them in more efficient agricultural production, by introducing new profitable crops and establish links with local markets. In the previous project, which run until May 2014, AWRC has trained women in kitchen gardening, food production techniques and processing of dairy products in Parwan and Ningarhar Province. Women with improved income from the production of vegetables, fruits and dairies are able to contribute to the household income, which improves the food security situation of rural families.
This new project, which will start in October 2014, is based on the current needs of the beneficiaries, on the market demand for agricultural products and on the findings of the previous project period . The aim is to enhance the efforts that enable AWRC to further assist women in improving their agricultural skills to increase their farm yields.

Objectifs
The main purpose of this project is to ensure food security, improve agriculture productivity and reduce the poverty of vulnerable farmers and their families through boosting agricultural production and improving income generating opportunities for women at the household and community levels in rural communities of Ningarhar and Parwan Provinces.
