Educate Thousands of Girls with Year-Round Water

Burkina Faso

Titre : Educate Thousands of Girls with Year-Round Water

Pays : Burkina Faso

Dates : 2016

Solar panels provide a simple solution to having light at night in rural villages in Burkina Faso. Currently, with no electricity, when the sun sets, education comes to a halt. With solar panels, lighting is provided at schools and homes. Girls can then continue to study after the sun sets.

Young girls are under-enrolled in school in Burkina Faso. They are expected to do chores at home after school. Their only time for study is during daylight hours. Lack of electricity limits a young girl’s access to read, to write, to learn. With solar energy, the sun is harnessed so that girls can study after dark. Educating a young girl enhances her life, her family, and her community.

The main objective of our Educating Girls Using Solar Power is to have solar powered lights throughout villages in Burkina Faso.

Impact à long terme
Educating young girls enhances their lives and contributes to their environment and their community.
