Résumé
The development objective of Building Resilience to Food and Nutrition Insecurity Shocks Project for Senegal is to provide access to food and nutrition security enhancing services among vulnerable households through the promotion of appropriate new technologies in selected areas of the Recipient’s territory. This project has four components. 1) The first component, Women’s organization and empowerment, will focus on women with young children as well as adolescent girls and enhance their capacity to produce, buy and provide adequate food for the household notably the children and themselves, and promote their health status. 2) The second component, Improved varieties and appropriate technologies for micro scale applications at household level, will select beneficiary women from the most vulnerable households in the village and support these women with new technologies for year-long household food production, community-based food processing and preparation adapted to the local context, household water purification and hand washing facilities. 3) The third component, Community leadership and governance, will develop the governance structure by which the social objectives of identifying and assisting the most vulnerable households will be integrated with commercial or economic objectives of enhancing the economic viability of vulnerable households. 4) The fourth component, Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Knowledge Management, will cover the support functions of the project and includes the following sub-components : (i) Project Management and Administration (PMA) ; (ii) Monitoring and Evaluation ; and (iii) Knowledge Management
