Résumé
This research evaluates the level of accuracy a rain-gauge network can achieve using the ordinary kriging as geostatistical approach. A sequential algorithm was proposed to prioritize the rain gauges to allow for the augmentation of the network to estimate the required relocations/addition of rain gauges. A comparison between the ground stations (observations) and TRMM data was done to evaluate the adequacy of using the satellite rainfall estimates as an input to rainfall network design in ungagged zones or zones with few rainfall stations.
