Mobile phone is widely used as an extension contact method in the developed and some developing countries. It has the advantages of mass media in disseminating new ideas, also it replaces group contact methods in teaching farmers new practices and skills, in addition it plays the same role as an individual contact method. A sample of (400) farmers out of (200,000) farmers in Khartoum state are chosen according to the following statistical equation (Z2 *P x q)/e2 and interviewed. All the extension workers (40) in the study area were interviewed. The collected data were analyzed by computer using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program, frequencies, percentages, weighted mean and Chi2 are calculated. The results revealed that : all extension workers (100%) have mobile phone and (87.5%) of them have smart phone. Extension workers have a positive attitude towards using mobile phone as extension contact method at a weighted mean of (4.07) according to Likert scale results. The extension workers should use all individual and group contact methods to inform and teach farmers the importance of using mobile and urge them to act upon. Lastly farmers union should provide farmers with smart mobile phone at a subsidized cost to make gaining mobile phone affordable to all farmers.
