Résumé
Class Gastropoda is one of the largest molluscan classes since 75.000 species have been described in a wide variety of habitats. Gastropods constitute an attractive field for biologists, since some snails cause harms for human and his animals and plants. Some species of snails have been increased in recent years as an abundant agricultural pests that attack many local vegetations and crops, causing damage to both young and adult plants. Other snails are used as food in Europe, as Helix aspersa and Helix pomatia which are eaten in central Europe, and Helix lucorum which is one of the most edible snails in Greece (Laxaridou - Dimitriadou - Kattaulas, 1981). Also, there are some species of snails which are widely eaten in Trinidad and has also been reported to be eaten in Guyana (Pain, 1950),these animals are caught in the wild and sold live at local markets either with or without the shell.
