Community fields in 3 villages (Bazoulé, Peila, Woob-reguere) Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso

Titre : Community fields in 3 villages (Bazoulé, Peila, Woob-reguere) Burkina Faso

Pays : Burkina Faso

Durée : January 2010 - December 2011

Objectifs
The project, carried out in 3 villages, aimed to retain or reintegrate youths in their rural community of origin, by giving them a community field to manage and cultivate.

Résultats
In the three villages, a new source of income and supplementary food was created for a total of 60 families, including 240 children and adolescents. In each village, land was made available for 20 families who received training in gardening and formed a management committee. A second phase of the project introduced participants to harvesting and the sale of produce. Consistent with its objective, a decline in the departures of children from the region was observed by the end of the project.
