Présentation
The project objective is to contribute to improving the living conditions of the population by increasing access to water supply and sanitation and by providing water supply to livestock. The project will contribute to poverty reduction and to socio-economic development in the project area. The outcomes of the project are : (i) Access rate to safe drinking water in Ennedi East increased from 11% to 57%, (ii) Access rate to safe drinking water in Wadi Fira increased from 22.4% to 46%, (iii) 280,000 additional population have sustainable access to safe drinking water of 20L/person/day from a current average of 4L/person/day, (iv) Access to improved sanitation beneficed to 88,200 inhabitants, and (v) Access to water beneficed to 163,000 heads of livestock

The specific results of the project are to contribute to : (i) reduce the prevalence of water-borne diseases, (ii) improve livestock sector through sustainable provision of water for livestock herds ; (iii) reduce the burden of fetching water - which is thesole responsibility of women and young girls of school age – thereby more focusing on income generating activities and education ; and (iv) prevent diseases related to open defecation through appropriate use and access to improved latrines.
