Contexte
According to an Assesment of January 2018, it is estimated that 4.4 million people are food insecure and in need of humanitarian assistance, due to limited food, water and health care. Moreover the rain scarcity undermine the crop production of rural communities.

Objectif
The project aims to support agricultural production by encouraging the cultivation of Sesame, particularly proper, because of its ability to grow in adverse conditions. Another action will concerne the distribution of beekeeping kits (bee suits, gloves, smokers, brushes, hive tools) and trainings of 50 beneficiaries (25 women) on modern techniques of apiculture. Thanks to this project at least 14 km of irrigation canals will be rehabilitated. Is also very important the sensitization campaign conducted from CEFA to promote Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture practises, in order to prevent malnutrition, and to promote gender equality.
