Specific Objectives of the Study The major objectives of this study were : 1. To describe the extent to which recommended production practices for the crop were adopted by sugarbeet farmers in Nineveh province. 2. To describe the farmers’ perceptions concerning the sugar factory agent’s level of technical competency in sugarbeet farming. 3. To describe the farmers’ perceptions concerning the relevancy of the recommended sugarbeet practices to the sugarbeet farmers’ situation. 4. To describe the farmers’ perceptions of the amount of expected profit. 5. To determine the degree of f a r mers’ dependency on the credit and subsidy provided by the sugar factory. 6. To analyze the relationship between the farmers’ innovativeness and their perception of (1) the sugar factory agent’s technical competency ; 10 (2) the relevancy of the recommended sugarbeet practices to their own situations ; (3) how much profit they will make ; and (4) the dependency on the credit and subsidy provided b y .the sugar factory.
