Résumé
The Eastern Desert is one of the almost untapped regions in Egypt. One of the promising basins in this region is Wadi Qena. In this study, several scenarios had been presented to evaluate the groundwater potential within the study area. These scenarios propose two well fields (shallow/deep) with different abstraction rates. For minimizing the drawdown in the well fields, other scenarios propose underground dams downstream the proposed well field. These scenarios were evaluated during a period of 40 years for sustainable development in the region using one of the most popular groundwater models (Visual MODFLOW).
