Résumé
This work examined the micro-climatic changes induced by local land use modification using numerical weather modeling. Three regions of interest were investigated. In the first region, the study considers the urbanization and urban encroachment on agricultural lands in the Nile Delta region and its effects on the weather in Egypt. The second region, considered focuses on the land use change caused by reclamation along the northern coastline in the Sinai Peninsula. Weather changes induced by reclamation in this region were simulated such as temperature, wind speed, humidity. Finally, in the third region, a study of local weather changes induced by the creation of the lakes in Toshka valley created by the excess water in Lake Nasser during the over flooding years. The local land use changes were acquired from satellite data then used to enhance the numerical model by updating its boundary conditions for each simulated region.
