Résumé
Sustainable development is nowadays seen as the best way that can guarantee a balanced manner, the coexistence of economic growth and human development. The Angolan southwest, one of the most important agricultural, livestock and fishing regions in Angola faces serious socio-economic and sustainability issues, especially in their communities located in rural areas. Food insecurity, hunger, poor education, lack of development opportunities, lack of adaptation strategies constantly recurring droughts and extreme poverty are some aspects that characterize these rural communities. This set of fragility features in the dry regions of southern Angola, especially in the area of Arcos, about their cultural background and their exposure to changes/climatic and environmental changes, has directed this work for the definition of sustainable development strategies and mitigate the impacts of global change to allow the construction of a better life. The intervention strategies and actions necessary proposals to make these communities sustainable are of two types : direct intervention in communities and enhancement of tourism products in the region, achievable with the combination of synergies as i) the action of formal legal institutions to design and or receive viable projects for sustainability, ii) application of legal and political provisions available to promote sustainable communities, and iii) encouraging the spirit of the own local community initiatives in finding ways and mechanisms to adapt to hardships imposed by the environment.
