Présentation
Agricultural production requires energy in all its phases (from farms to market stalls), and this energy requirement is mainly supplied through fossil fuels. This, in turn, fosters greenhouse effect which is a main cause of climate change, and increases production costs. Mount Ida, Edremit Bay, and the surrounding areas are quite rich in terms of renewable energy source potential. Renewable energy sources are being used mainly in residents. Renewable energy usage has a neglectable role in agricultural production, which is both a user and a source of renewable energy source (biogas). Most of the users are inadequate concerning incitements, grants, and best practices. Moreover, national unlicensed electrical energy generation legislation is also inadequate for supporting the usage of renewable energy sources in agricultural production. This Project aims, first, to delineate the renewable energy source and agricultural production potential of the region, to bring together all the stake-holders who are organized under different agricultural production cooperatives, to strengthen their capacities concerning incitements, grants, and best practices, to develop suggestions as to how to bring the national unlicensed electrical energy generation legislation in compliance with the EU legislations, and finally to implement capacity strengthening studies concerning decision makers. The project will increase stakeholders’ awareness about renewable energy legislations, standards, incitements, grants, products and applications. It will also incite establishing networks through which the stakeholders can carry out decision making, communication, negotiation, and collaboration tasks. Finally, the project will help stakeholders to take initiative by strengthening the capacities of the stakeholders concerning legislative and managemental decision processes which will enable them to be a part of related communication networks
