Présentation
Thousands of villagers in District Muzzafargarh were left homeless after the 2010 floods, which wiped out communities and left over 200 revenue villages desolate. PPAF’s efforts rehabilitation, recovery and restoration of livelihoods for the affected people evolved into a plan for the Ittehad Model Village Project, in collaboration with Engro Foundation. The transformation of Ehsanpur into the Ittehad Model Village resulted in numerous infrastructural improvements and capacity building interventions.

Activités :
166 houses, each with two rooms, a veranda, washroom and a hand-pump were built, with the ownership rights of all houses vested in the names of the women of the households.
- Solar electricity introduced (3 solar panels, 100W each) in residential as well as common facilities.
- 6 parks and livestock sheds built, along with play-pumps that help for providing easy access to water.
- Underground sewerage system connected to a Grey-water Harvesting unit established for purification and reuse of water.
- Construction of a mosque, a community center and a Dairy Hub for milk collection.
- Skills training programmes in construction and welding as well as livelihood trainings in mat-making, honey-beekeeping and kitchen-gardening (women-centric activities in the area).
- Adult literacy, non-formal education and play group options established to ensure 100% enrolment of the village residents in literacy programmes.
