Contexte
The 3 implementation areas of the project (East Tigray, West Oromia and Hadiya, in the SNNPR Region) have some problematic elements : high rates of poverty and extreme poverty ; widespread food insecurity and malnutrition ; social exclusion of women and young people ; strong risk of non-voluntary and illegal emigration to several parts of the population.

Objectif
The project aims to intervene, with a sustainable approach, on these fronts : food security and nutrition ; empowerment of women and young people in the socio-economic field ; mitigation of the causes of migration.

Descriptif
Opportunities for decent work and access to income for women and young people in rural areas (Oromia, Tigray and SNNPR) will be created in Ethiopia. CEFA will work with pre-existing groups to support them in their structuring process, to train their members at a technical and entrepreneurial level, in order to increase employment and income opportunities for the most vulnerable population groups. In Italy, awareness-raising and information activities on sustainable agriculture and gender equality both for schools and for citizens of Parma and Bologna will be carried out.

Bénéficiaires : 90 women agricultural entrepreneurs ; 72 young people from 6 cooperatives for cheese production ; 12 women from 1 female cooperative for wax production ; 48 young people from 4 breeding cooperatives
