Drought has been a recurrent problem among Ethiopian farmers for the last 20 years. The response to drought by farmers, government and aid agencies has taken various forms ranging from a ,complete resettlement to re-establishing the original farming system. The "0xj/eed" project sponsored by ’" Oxfam U.K., Oxfam America, GTZ (W. Germany) , Medios (Belgium),AFCF (France), the International Livestock Center for Africa (ILCA), and other organizations was designed to help drought victims in Tegulet and Bulga district of central Ethiopia by Providing oxen, seed, and food aid. Depending on the success of this project, it could be considered as a model for helping drought victims. "The objective of this study was to investigate the effect , of inputs provided on the crop production- of the drought victims, and evaluate how these inputs have influenced the financial position of the farmers. A modified Cobb-Douglas production’ function was specified and estimated. Significance and structural change tests were ,carried out to investigate the possible differences between project beneficiaries and non beneficiaries.· The production function analysis was based on çross-sectional information on seven crops from 180 farms.
