Increasing Biodiversity, Nutrition and Hygiene Boosts Food and Nutritional Security (Burkina Faso)

Burkina Faso

Titre : Increasing Biodiversity, Nutrition and Hygiene Boosts Food and Nutritional Security (Burkina Faso)

Pays  : Burkina Faso

Date/Durée : 2019 – 2025

Projet ID : BFA 1081-19

Description
The farming households of the Bazèga province in Burkina Faso subsist on poor diets and suffer from a lack of sanitation infrastructure. Welthungerhilfe’s integrated LANN+ approach is helping the population boost their food and nutritional security through afforestation, agroforestry/silvopasture and latrine construction projects. Women and children in particular benefit from training courses and materials for maintaining communal vegetable gardens, the preparation of enriched baby formula and porridge, and hygiene awareness.
