More Autonomy for Refugees and Their Hosts (Niger)

Titre : More Autonomy for Refugees and Their Hosts (Niger)

Pays  : Niger

Date/Durée : 2018 – 2020

Projet ID : NER 1024-17

The terror threat from Boko Haram has caused hundreds of thousands of Nigerians to flee into the border area in the south-east of Niger. They are hosted here by families from the same ethnic background, but the poor nutrition situation leads to conflicts. This project follows on from a previous emergency-assistance project and enables the people to regain more autonomy. Goats, seed and fertilisers are distributed, as well as kits for “sack gardens”. Cash-for-work measures are used for restoring fields among other aims. There is also relevant training - open to refugees and their hosts.
