Milk as a Boost for the Local Economy (Kenya)

Titre : Milk as a Boost for the Local Economy (Kenya)

Pays  : Kenya

Date/Durée : 2018 – 2023

Projet ID : KEN 1163-18

In this project in western Kenya, various measures are being taken to ensure more professional dairy farming. Many small-scale farmers produce very little milk for their own use. Through modern livestock health, water and feed management, production is initially increased. By bringing together farmers’ groups, they can then jointly provide a quantity of milk that is relevant to the urban markets. The resulting value chain in turn provides urgently needed jobs (storage, transport, marketing) for the rural youth.
